1- More polite requests and invitation (Çok kibar istek ya da davet bildirir):

- Would you please move aside?
- Lütfen kenara çekilir misiniz?

- Would you please open the door?
- Lütfen kapıyı açar mısınız?

- Would you like to eat a sandwich?
- Sandviç yemek ister misiniz?

- Would you like some coffee?
- Biraz kahve ister misiniz?

- I would like to eat banana.
- Muz yemek istiyorum.


2- Past habits or repeated actions in the past (Geçmişdeki alışkanlıklar ya da tekrarlanan eylemler):


- I would play with cats when I was a child.
- Çocukken kedilerle oynardım.


3- Unreality in conditional sentences (Şart cümlelerinde):


PRESENT:

- What would you do if you were Prime Minister?
- Başbakan olsanız ne yapardınız?


PAST:

- If he hadn’t been ill he would have come.
- Eğer hasta olmasaydı gelirdi.


4- Past refusals by using “wouldn’t”(Gemişde reddedilen eylemlerde)

- Ali didn’t go to the cinema because his father wouldn’t let him.
- Ali babası izin vermediği için sinemaya gitmedi.


5- Willingness or determination in reported speech (Dolaylı anlatımlarda):

- He said, ‘I will go to Ankara tomorrow’.
- O, yarın Ankara’ya gideceğim dedi.


- He said he would fly to Ankara the next day.
- Yarın uçakla Ankara’ya gideceğini söyledi.


6- Preference with would rather, would sooner, would prefer (tercih bildirme):

Would rather:

- I would rather die than yield to the enemy.
- Ölmeyi düşmana teslim olmaya tercih ederim.

Would sooner:

- I would sooner eat something sweet than sour.
- Tatlıyı ekşiye tercih ederim.

Would prefer:

-I would prefer to take the subway.
- Metroya binmeyi tercih ederim.
